Invest Monterrey participated in the 13th edition of INCmty, one of Latin America’s leading platforms for innovation and entrepreneurship, bringing together startups, corporations, investors, and public sector leaders to foster collaboration and drive economic growth.
A Platform for Innovation and Collaboration
This year’s edition took place at Tecnológico de Monterrey, host of the Innovation District, and Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León, home of the Research District. Both venues served as key spaces to promote collaboration between academia, industry, and government, while advancing technology-based entrepreneurship.
Japan participated as the guest country, reinforcing international collaboration and strengthening connections between global innovation ecosystems.

Leadership and Strategic Participation
Invest Monterrey’s involvement also reflects its leadership within the platform. Andrés Ochoa-Bünsow, President of Invest Monterrey, serves as a member of the INCmty board, contributing to the strategic direction of initiatives that promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and regional economic development.
As part of the agenda, Héctor Tijerina, Executive Director of Invest Monterrey, participated in the panel “MTY Digital: Government as an Engine for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.” The discussion explored how local governments can support entrepreneurial ecosystems through regulatory simplification, digitalization, and innovation-friendly environments.
The panel also featured Ximena Tamariz García, Secretary of Economic Development of Monterrey; Julio Hajime Toy Ovando, Director of Regulatory Improvement at the Municipality of Monterrey; and Manuel Gerardo Flores Romero, OECD Regulatory Policy Program Coordinator for Latin America, who shared insights on the role of public policy and cross-sector collaboration in fostering economic growth and supporting new businesses.

Monterrey as a Hub for Innovation and Growth
The successful organization of this edition, led by Daniela Garza, President of INCmty, and Thomas Michael Hogg, CEO of INCmty, reinforces Monterrey’s position as a leading hub for innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology in Latin America.
Through its participation, Invest Monterrey continues to support initiatives that strengthen the region’s ecosystem, attract investment, and drive sustainable economic development through innovation.
