Japanese Chamber Meeting in Monterrey Highlights Growth of Japanese Investment in the Region

The Cámara Japonesa de Comercio e Industria de México A.C. held a high-level meeting in Monterrey, bringing together nearly 70 representatives from more than 40 companies, primarily Japanese firms operating in Mexico. Notably, around half of the participating companies are based in Monterrey, reflecting the strong and growing presence of Japanese investment in the region.
 


 

Addressing Key Business Environment Topics

 

The meeting focused on key aspects of the local business environment, including public security conditions, corporate security practices, and visa procedures for companies operating in Monterrey. These topics are critical for international firms seeking to strengthen operations and ensure long-term business continuity in the region.
 

Opening remarks were delivered by Mr. Nakamura, Director of the Chamber’s Nuevo León office, and Mr. Okubo, organizer of the meeting. Additional presentations included insights from Mr. Hirasawa, President of the Public Security Affairs Committee, and Mr. Nozaki of Takimoto Cortina Farell y Asociados, who provided guidance on visa procedures for companies operating in the region.
 

Invest Monterrey Shares Strategic Outlook

 

As part of the program, Héctor Tijerina, Executive Director of Invest Monterrey, delivered a presentation titled “Nuevo León: A Strategic Outlook on Growth and Recent Landmark Investments.” The presentation highlighted the state’s competitive advantages, recent investment trends, and its positioning as a leading destination for foreign direct investment in Mexico.
 


 

Strengthening Japan–Monterrey Economic Ties

 

The meeting served as an important platform for dialogue, knowledge-sharing, and collaboration among Japanese companies and local stakeholders. It also underscored Monterrey’s role as a key hub for Japanese investment and industrial development, supported by its strong manufacturing base, skilled workforce, and integration into global supply chains.
 

As Japanese companies continue to expand their footprint in Mexico, initiatives like this reinforce Monterrey’s position as a strategic destination for long-term growth, innovation, and cross-border economic cooperation.
