KIA Mexico Opens New Parts Distribution Center in Monterrey

KIA Mexico has officially inaugurated a new automotive parts distribution center in Salinas Victoria, located in the northern metropolitan area of Monterrey, Nuevo León. The move strengthens Monterrey’s role as a strategic logistics hub for northern Mexico and reinforces its position within the broader mobility and supply chain ecosystem.

The facility spans 2,500 square meters and was developed in collaboration with Hyundai Mobis, KIA’s long-time logistics and parts partner. The center’s main objective is to optimize delivery times, reduce inventory lag, and enhance service levels for KIA’s distributor network in the region.

Splitting National Operations to Boost Efficiency

With this investment, KIA is implementing a two-pillar distribution strategy across Mexico. The Cuautitlán center in the State of Mexico will continue servicing the central and southern markets, while the newly launched Monterrey distribution center will take over operations in northern Mexico—starting with the Monterrey metropolitan area.

In its first phase, the center will serve six distributors within Monterrey, ensuring faster and more efficient delivery of original automotive parts and service components. The company has already confirmed that by January 2026, the facility’s reach will expand to cover Coahuila and Tamaulipas, offering even broader logistical support across the region.

This strategic expansion underscores KIA’s commitment to building a responsive, regionally integrated supply chain, capable of adapting to growing demand and new market dynamics.

Monterrey: A Preferred Location for Logistics and Mobility

KIA Mexico’s decision to base its new distribution center in Monterrey is a strong signal of the region’s rising importance in Mexico’s automotive and industrial sectors. Salinas Victoria, part of Monterrey’s larger industrial corridor, offers excellent connectivity to highways, intermodal terminals, and proximity to major manufacturing clusters.

The region’s infrastructure, talent pool, and geographic advantage near the U.S. border make it an ideal site for logistics optimization—especially as nearshoring continues to reshape global supply chains.

KIA’s investment also aligns with a broader wave of foreign and domestic companies choosing Monterrey as a base for regional expansion, warehousing, and just-in-time delivery operations.

Supporting Long-Term Growth in Northern Mexico

The launch of the KIA Mexico Monterrey distribution center represents more than a logistics enhancement—it’s a vote of confidence in the long-term potential of northern Mexico’s economy. By investing in strategic infrastructure, KIA is laying the groundwork to meet future demand while enhancing support for its customers and service partners.

As more global manufacturers rethink their logistics strategies, Monterrey continues to rise as a preferred destination for high-impact investment in both industrial and mobility sectors.
