Invest Monterrey had the honor of welcoming a high-level business delegation from Belgium, led by the Wallonia Export & Investment Agency (AWEX) and Flanders Investment & Trade (FIT), with the participation of His Excellency Mr. Patrick Herman, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to Mexico.

The visit marked an important step in reinforcing the strong economic relationship between Belgium and Monterrey, fostering dialogue and identifying opportunities for collaboration in trade, investment, and industrial partnerships.

During the session, Invest Monterrey shared key insights on doing business in Mexico alongside Betsabé Rocha, Secretary of Economy of Nuevo León, as well as representatives from Collectron International Services and Baker McKenzie. The discussions highlighted Mexico’s robust manufacturing ecosystem, strategic location within North America, and the advantages of establishing operations in Monterrey — one of the most competitive regions for foreign investment in Latin America.
 

Following the presentations, Invest Monterrey members and Belgian companies participated in a networking session designed to promote business connections, explore potential projects, and encourage bilateral cooperation between both regions.
 

The delegation’s visit reflects Belgium’s growing interest in Mexico’s industrial development, innovation ecosystem, and nearshoring opportunities. For Monterrey, it was a valuable opportunity to showcase its world-class infrastructure, skilled workforce, and leadership in advanced manufacturing and technology.
