Fersa Unveils First North American Manufacturing Facility in Monterrey
Spanish bearing manufacturer Fersa officially presented its new production facility at FINSA Apodaca Industrial Park in Monterrey, marking the company’s first manufacturing site in North America. The facility began operating in late July 2026, establishing a regional production base to serve customers in Mexico, the United States and Canada. Â
Local Production for the North American Automotive Industry
The facility launched operations with a production line for tapered roller bearings, primarily intended for heavy-duty automotive applications. It has an annual capacity of approximately 500,000 bearing sets, adding local manufacturing capabilities to Fersa’s presence in the North American market. Â
The new operation is designed to improve supply continuity and responsiveness for original equipment manufacturers, Tier 1 suppliers and aftermarket customers. Manufacturing closer to these customers will allow Fersa to respond more quickly to their requirements and strengthen coordination across its regional supply chain. Â
Customer proximity is a central objective of the project. The Monterrey facility gives Fersa a production location within the market it serves, supporting closer relationships with automotive customers and a more direct response to their operational needs. Â

Additional Production Capacity Planned
Fersa plans to expand the facility in stages, adding an assembly line before the end of 2026 and a second production line in 2027. These additions will broaden the operation’s capabilities as the company develops its manufacturing presence in the region. Â
The phased approach establishes an initial production platform while providing a path for further growth. It also reinforces Monterrey’s role within Fersa’s strategy to strengthen its service to the North American automotive industry. Â

Local Talent Supported by International Training
Production employees were recruited locally and trained at Fersa’s facilities in Spain before operations began. This preparation connected the new team with the company’s existing manufacturing expertise and supported the transfer of technical knowledge to Monterrey. Â
Fersa currently employs approximately 50 people in Mexico. By combining local recruitment, international training and planned production expansion, the company is building a regional operation that brings manufacturing expertise closer to its North American customers.
