The session focused on presenting Monterrey’s value proposition for Japanese companies, highlighting the region’s strong industrial ecosystem, skilled workforce, strategic location under the USMCA framework, and proven track record in attracting high-value foreign direct investment.

Support for Japanese Investment and Soft-Landing Services

During the meeting, Invest Monterrey outlined its investment facilitation and soft-landing services, designed to support Japanese companies throughout the full investment lifecycle — from site selection and regulatory guidance to local supplier integration and institutional coordination.

Both organizations discussed opportunities to strengthen coordination mechanisms to better support Japanese firms already operating in the region, as well as those evaluating expansion or new investment projects in Monterrey and Nuevo León.

Collaboration to Attract and Facilitate Japanese Companies

The dialogue explored concrete pathways for collaboration, including:

– Joint efforts to attract new Japanese investment
– Market intelligence sharing on sectoral trends and opportunities
– Connecting Japanese companies with local suppliers, clusters, and industrial stakeholders
– Supporting business missions and investment pipelines between Japan and Monterrey

Upcoming industry events such as Expo Manufactura, the Automotive Supplier Expo, and Expo PyME were presented as key platforms for engagement, networking, and business development between Japanese companies and the regional industrial ecosystem.

Reinforcing Monterrey–Japan Economic Ties

The meeting reaffirmed the strong and growing relationship between Monterrey and Japan, particularly in advanced manufacturing, automotive, electronics, and industrial services. This dialogue lays the groundwork for continued cooperation, future investment missions, and long-term collaboration initiatives aimed at strengthening Monterrey’s role as a hub for Japanese industries in Mexico and North America.

Through initiatives like this, Invest Monterrey continues to promote strategic international partnerships, facilitate high-impact investment, and support the sustainable growth of Monterrey’s industrial economy.
