Invest Monterrey Strengthens Ties with KOTRA’s New Leadership in Monterrey

Invest Monterrey had the pleasure of meeting with Mr. Choi, the newly appointed Head of the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) office in Monterrey. The meeting marked an important step in continuing to foster collaboration between Monterrey and South Korea’s business community.

KOTRA is the Korean government’s agency dedicated to promoting international trade and investment, supporting global partnerships, and strengthening bilateral economic relations. Its presence in Monterrey underscores the strategic importance of the region as a key destination for Korean investment in Mexico.

Over the years, Monterrey has become a primary hub for Korean companies expanding into Mexico, particularly in sectors such as automotive, electronics, advanced manufacturing, and logistics. The establishment and growth of companies like KIA Motors, Hyundai Mobis, and LG Electronics have further reinforced this strong connection between both economies.

During the meeting, Invest Monterrey and KOTRA discussed opportunities to continue supporting Korean firms operating in Nuevo León and to attract new projects that contribute to innovation, technology transfer, and job creation. Both organizations reaffirmed their shared commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation and ensuring long-term success for Korean investors in the region.

This meeting reflects Invest Monterrey’s ongoing mission to build international partnerships and promote Monterrey as one of Latin America’s most competitive and globally connected business destinations.
