Hyundai Mobis Invests $55M USD in Monterrey Expansion Focused on Autonomous Vehicles and Semiconductors
Hyundai Mobis has announced a new investment of approximately $55 million USD (MXN $1 billion) to expand its operations in the municipality of PesquerÃa, further strengthening Monterrey’s position as a leading hub for advanced automotive manufacturing and innovation.
The expansion, confirmed during a recent working tour in South Korea by Samuel GarcÃa, will focus on high-value automotive technologies, including autonomous driving systems, semiconductors, and next-generation mobility solutions.

This new phase of investment is expected to generate around 250 specialized jobs, particularly in engineering and advanced manufacturing, reinforcing the demand for highly skilled talent in the region.
With more than a decade of operations in the region, Hyundai Mobis has become a key player in the state’s automotive ecosystem, producing components such as chassis systems, safety modules, lighting, and electronic systems. The company has steadily expanded its footprint, aligning with global trends toward electrification, smart mobility, and digitalization.

The investment reflects the growing importance of Monterrey as a destination for nearshoring and high-tech manufacturing, particularly in sectors undergoing rapid transformation such as automotive and semiconductors. By focusing on innovation-driven capabilities, Hyundai Mobis is contributing to the region’s transition toward Industry 4.0 and advanced mobility solutions.
As global demand for intelligent and connected vehicles continues to rise, projects like this reinforce Monterrey’s competitiveness as a strategic location for companies seeking to scale operations and integrate into North America’s evolving supply chains.
