Monterrey Selected to Host Mexico’s Foreign Trade Congress 2026, Reinforcing Nuevo León’s Export Leadership
Monterrey has been officially selected as the host city for the 32nd Mexican Foreign Trade Congress 2026, one of the country’s most important events focused on international trade, exports, investment, and global business development. Organized by the Mexican Business Council for Foreign Trade, Investment and Technology (COMCE), the congress will take place from October 27–29, 2026, under the theme “Made in Mexico: Quality and Global Vision.”
The event is expected to bring together more than 750 business leaders, government officials, trade specialists, academic institutions, and international organizations to discuss the future of global trade, investment attraction, and Mexico’s integration into international value chains.

Monterrey Strengthens Its Position as a Trade and Logistics Hub
COMCE leaders highlighted Monterrey’s selection as recognition of the Northeast region’s growing importance in Mexico’s export economy. The region currently accounts for approximately 41% of Mexico’s total exports, supported by its strong manufacturing base, logistics infrastructure, and strategic proximity to the United States.
Monterrey has emerged as one of North America’s most dynamic industrial centers, serving as a key gateway for companies seeking to access regional and global markets through advanced manufacturing, nearshoring, and integrated supply chains.
Monterrey Continues to Lead in Exports and Investment
Monterrey remains one of Mexico’s strongest economic performers, ranking among the country’s top export and foreign direct investment destinations. The state generated more than $59 billion USD in exports, representing approximately 8.8% of national exports, while continuing to attract significant investment projects from global companies.
Industry leaders also emphasized that the region possesses the largest concentration of industrial parks in Mexico, supported by extensive highway networks, rail infrastructure, and international connectivity through Monterrey’s airport and border crossings.

Italy to Participate as Guest Country
The 2026 edition of the congress will feature Italy as the guest country, showcasing companies, institutions, and organizations focused on strengthening commercial and investment ties with Mexico.
The participation reflects the growing importance of international collaboration in manufacturing, technology, innovation, and industrial development. Organizers noted that both countries share a commitment to promoting high-value manufacturing and global competitiveness.
Driving the Future of International Trade
The congress will include keynote presentations, specialized panels, business matchmaking sessions, and discussions addressing key topics such as global trade trends, supply chain resilience, investment attraction, export growth, and industrial competitiveness.
By hosting this landmark event, Monterrey further reinforces its role as a strategic platform for international business, foreign investment, and export-driven growth, strengthening Monterrey’s position as one of the leading economic engines of Mexico and North America.
