Invest Monterrey Wrapped Up Successful Business Mission to California
In its efforts to boost regional economic development, Invest Monterrey conducted a trade mission to California, showcasing Monterrey as the premier location for living and doing business in Mexico.
Aligned with Invest Monterrey’s activities to promote the economic development of the region, a trade mission was conducted to California. This week-long event highlighted why Monterrey is the best place to live and do business in Mexico.
Hector Tijerina, Executive Director of Invest Monterrey, led the delegation. Representatives from the private sector and members of Invest Monterrey, including Paulina Gonzalez (American Industries), Daniela Pineda (Banco Base), and Adys Davila (The Nearshore Company), also participated.
The business mission kicked off in Southern California with several successful meetings with companies interested in investing in Mexico and Nuevo León. These companies span various industries, including electromobility and home appliances. Many are making significant expansion decisions this year or next, viewing Mexico as an important place to do business.
These interactions focused on fostering collaborations and exploring potential investment projects in Monterrey.
Investment Promotion Seminar in San Francisco, California
Continuing the business mission in San Francisco, Invest Monterrey participated alongside Chihuahua Global in the investment promotion seminar “Doing Business in Mexico.” The American Chamber of Commerce Mexico organized the event. The undersecretaries of the state governments of Nuevo León and Chihuahua, along with American Chamber of Commerce members, led it.
More than 30 attendees from different industries heard from experts in real estate, finance, and legal fields. The seminar provided valuable information tailored to the interests of the companies present.
“This seminar was an invaluable stage for promoting Monterrey to companies considering expanding their operations to Mexico. Monterrey is the leading recipient of US investment in Mexico,” said Hector Tijerina, Executive Director of Invest Monterrey.
After the seminar, the Monterrey delegation held a networking event with the attending companies to discuss their potential investment projects in more detail.

Invest Monterrey proudly participated in Semicon West 2024, a premier global event for the semiconductor industry held at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. The Monterrey delegation engaged with key associations and companies to highlight the dynamic business landscape and investment opportunities in Monterrey, Mexico.
The event provided an excellent platform for Invest Monterrey to showcase the region’s robust infrastructure, skilled workforce, and strategic location, making it a reliable destination for semiconductor and technology-related investments.
The Monterrey delegation emphasized the region’s commitment to innovation, economic growth, and the support available to international investors. The positive response and interest from companies at Semicon West 2024 underscored Monterrey’s position as a burgeoning hub for technology and manufacturing, reinforcing its attractiveness as a prime investment destination in Mexico.

The United States is Monterrey’s largest investor, contributing nearly 50% of the total FDI attracted since 1999.
