Danfoss Opens New High-Tech Plant in Monterrey as It Celebrates 30 Years in Mexico

In a milestone marking three decades of operations in Mexico, Danfoss inaugurated a major expansion of its production facility in Monterrey. The newly-expanded plant more than doubles the firm’s capacity in the region, drives the next stage of its manufacturing strategy, and strengthens the state’s role as a key destination for advanced industry.

The investment supports Danfoss’s “LEAP 2030” strategy and will serve the North American market with greater proximity and resilience. The facility is certified to LEED Silver standards, includes an expanded compressor laboratory (from 500 m² to 1,000 m²), and adds three new production lines for micro-channel heat exchangers, large and medium scroll compressors, semi-hermetic BOCK compressors, and sensors.

The factory now employs more than 1,400 staff locally and will add approximately 300 full-time jobs with the new expansion. Danfoss has invested over $100 million USD in Mexico in the last four years alone.

Local authorities including the Mayor of Apodaca and the Ambassador of Denmark attended the inauguration, highlighting the region’s capacity to support global industrial investment. The expansion underlines Monterrey’s advantages: a skilled workforce, strong infrastructure, and industrial ecosystem aligned with global supply-chain shifts.

Invest Monterrey congratulates Danfoss on this achievement and remains committed to facilitating multinational corporations as they grow in the region. The plant reinforces Monterrey’s competitiveness in sectors such as HVAC, industrial automation, and high-precision manufacturing — all of which are critical nodes in the near-shoring trend.
