The state of Nuevo León has announced that it will become the site of Latin America’s first humanoid robot manufacturing facility, with the arrival of Reflex Robotics, a cutting-edge company founded by graduates of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) specializing in the production of multipurpose humanoid robots for industrial automation.
 

The announcement was made by Governor Samuel Alejandro García Sepúlveda during a business tour in New York, where state officials promoted Monterrey as a strategic destination for advanced technology and high-impact investment. The project marks a major milestone in the state’s innovation ecosystem and its drive toward the future of Industry 4.0 and smart manufacturing.
 

Strategic Technology Investment and Job Creation

According to state officials, the Reflex Robotics facility will be the first of its kind in Latin America dedicated to designing and manufacturing robots humanoides — advanced, multipurpose robots capable of automating a wide range of industrial tasks across manufacturing environments. These robots are expected to help reduce operational costs and improve productivity in factories in Mexico and the United States.
 

The installation of the facility is projected to generate more than 2,000 direct jobs, offering new opportunities for engineers, robotics specialists, AI professionals, and students throughout Mexico. Governor García emphasized that the plant will be a hub for technological innovation where robots will be 100 % manufactured in Monterrey, reinforcing the region’s role as a leader in advanced industrial development.
 

Global Production and Operational Coordination

From this new center in Monterrey, Reflex Robotics will not only build humanoid robots but also coordinate and control robotic operations that support factories across the United States. This international operational model positions the state as a strategic node in the global automation and artificial intelligence value chain.

The arrival of a humanoid robot manufacturer is expected to strengthen human capital development in Mexico, particularly in fields related to AI, robotics, and automation technologies.
