Munters Expands Industrial Manufacturing in Nuevo León With New Plant

Swedish climate-control technology leader Munters has expanded its industrial footprint in Mexico with the opening of a new manufacturing facility in Monterrey, reinforcing the state’s attraction as a destination for high-value foreign investment and advanced manufacturing.

The new plant marks Munters’ second facility in Mexico and is part of a broader investment strategy focused on strengthening production capabilities in the country’s northern industrial corridor. Over the past 16 months, the company has invested a total of 190 million pesos (approximately US$10 million USD) in its Mexican operations, with a second phase of expansion already underway.

Boosting Local Manufacturing and Job Creation

The expansion in Monterrey has generated approximately 100 direct jobs, while contributing to the company’s commercial growth in the region. According to Munters, sales in Mexico have increased from US$37 million to US$68 million, reflecting the growing demand for the company’s energy-efficient climate-control solutions.

The facility will focus on manufacturing evaporative cooling panels, humidification systems, and other industrial climate-control products that serve critical applications in data centers, turbines, condensers, and both industrial and residential environments. These technologies meet international standards for energy efficiency and advanced dehumidification, underscoring Munters’ commitment to innovation and sustainability.

Confidence in Monterrey’s Industrial Ecosystem

Officials from the Nuevo León Ministry of Economy highlighted the importance of Munters’ expansion for the region. Betsabé Rocha, Secretary of Economy, noted that the decision by a global Swedish company to increase its investment demonstrates confidence in Monterrey’s talent pool, industrial infrastructure, and competitive business environment.

The plant opening was attended by local authorities from Monterrey, representatives of the state government, and Munters executives from the United States and Europe — reflecting the international scope of the project and the strong institutional support behind it.
