Nuevo León has officially become the leading state in Mexico for industrial growth and formal employment in 2025, reaffirming its position as the country’s main driver of productivity and investment. According to recent data from INEGI and the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), the state recorded a 5.5% increase in industrial activity in June and 4.6% growth during the first half of the year, standing out as the top contributor to national industrial expansion.
 

Manufacturing Leading the Way

Nuevo León continues to demonstrate its role as the industrial engine of Mexico, contributing nearly 89% of national manufacturing growth during the first half of 2025. While other regions experienced slight declines, Nuevo León maintained consistent expansion across sectors such as advanced manufacturing, automotive, metal-mechanics, and electronics, thanks to its strong supply chain integration and robust investment attraction.
 

This performance not only highlights the state’s productive strength but also reflects the strategic collaboration between government, industry, and academic institutions that has positioned Nuevo León as a model for sustainable economic growth in Mexico and Latin America.
 

A Strong Year for Employment

On the employment side, Nuevo León generated more than 13,000 new formal jobs in September alone, and over 45,000 jobs between January and September, representing more than 13% of total job creation nationwide. These figures demonstrate the state’s ongoing capacity to provide high-quality employment opportunities, supported by continuous industrial investment and a favorable business climate.
 

Betsabé Rocha, Secretary of Economy of Nuevo León, emphasized that this achievement reflects the region’s resilience and competitiveness:
 

“Nuevo León has consolidated itself as Mexico’s industrial engine. This growth shows the ability of our companies to remain productive and competitive, even in a complex national context.”
