Invest Monterrey Hosts Industrial Development Committee Session on Energy Infrastructure
Invest Monterrey held a new session of its Industrial Development Committee focused on energy infrastructure and its impact on investment in Monterrey and Mexico, bringing together business leaders, industry representatives, and public-sector officials to discuss one of the key factors influencing industrial growth and investment decisions.
Addressing a Growing Industrial Challenge
The session examined whether current energy infrastructure conditions continue to represent a challenge for attracting and expanding foreign investment. Participants discussed the availability and capacity of energy for industrial users, as well as the challenges companies face in securing a sufficient, reliable, and competitive power supply.
As industries adopt more advanced technologies and energy-intensive processes, access to reliable, sufficient, and high-quality power is becoming essential to maintaining efficient operations and supporting future growth. This makes energy a cross-cutting issue for industries ranging from manufacturing and automotive to logistics, technology, and other activities with significant power requirements.

Connecting Stakeholders Across the Industrial Ecosystem
The session provided a space for stakeholders with different perspectives on industrial development to exchange views on the current energy landscape. The discussion included Héctor Tijerina, Executive Director of Invest Monterrey; SofÃa Flores, Commercial Director of Terra Regia’s Industrial Division and Leader of Invest Monterrey’s Industrial Development Committee; Araceli W. Ching, Secretary of Investment, Economic Development and Employment Promotion of the Government of Guadalupe and Leader of Invest Monterrey’s Municipalities Committee; Claudia Esteves, General Director of the Mexican Association of Industrial Parks; and Eleazar Rivera, Executive Director of the Nuevo León Energy Cluster, along with members of the Industrial Development Committee.
Bringing together government representatives, companies, industrial park organizations, and developers allows the region to approach infrastructure challenges from multiple angles. These interactions can help identify the operational needs of companies, understand the infrastructure perspective of industrial developments, and promote greater coordination between the public and private sectors.

Building Regional Capacity for Long-Term Competitiveness
Given Monterrey’s importance as one of Mexico’s leading industrial hubs, strengthening regional capacity to address energy infrastructure challenges is essential to sustaining its growth. Developing the infrastructure, coordination mechanisms, and capabilities needed to meet the evolving requirements of industry will help the region remain prepared for future investment and support the continued expansion of existing operations.
Through the Industrial Development Committee and other collaborative initiatives, Invest Monterrey promotes dialogue and cooperation among the stakeholders shaping the region’s industrial ecosystem. These efforts contribute to building the regional capacity needed to address critical infrastructure challenges and help maintain Monterrey’s competitive advantage over other investment destinations in Mexico.
