Committees

In a collaborative effort between important organizations from the public, private, and academic sectors, the ‘Committee for the Attraction of Technology-Based Investments’ was formed today, with the main objective of increasing the competitiveness of the state of Nuevo Leon as a destination for investments that bring with them knowledge and technology.

The committee is made up of representatives from the Institute for Innovation and Technology Transfer of the Nuevo León State Government (I2T2), the Secretary of Economic Development of the Municipality of Monterrey, the IT Cluster (CSOFT MTY), the Driven Center (CLAUT), Nuevo León 4.0, Monterrey Digital Hub, ITESM, UANL, CANIETI, and Invest Monterrey.

“The intention is to contribute to the strategy of promoting the arrival of investments in sectors of the future dictated by the State Ministry of Economy. This committee brings together important players in the local ecosystem, with many years of experience in issues related to technology-based projects,” mentioned Hector Tijerina.

“The essential resource for this type of projects is talent, therefore, from the universities we are carrying out efforts so that our graduates have the necessary knowledge and skills to meet the demand for highly qualified human capital that these projects require”, he highlighted Abraham Tijerina, Business Developers Leader, at Tecnológico de Monterrey.

“There are more than 120 research and technology centers operating in the state, of which around 30% are located within the Research and Technological Innovation Park (PIIT),” said Martha Leal, Director of Planning and Knowledge Management at I2T2.

Technology-based investments have a positive impact on the economy and on the quality of life of the inhabitants, which is why this initiative is great news for Nuevo León.
